- Conducting an employee commuter survey to understand current commuting patterns and determine your employees desire for sustainable transportation choices

Employee Commuter Survey
Smart Commute will conduct a confidential employee transportation survey. The survey provides a baseline measure of current commuter traffic patterns and modes of transportation used. The survey also identifies the demand for sustainable transportation options.
The survey results will be summarized in a report that will identify strategies for reducing single occupancy vehicle (SOV) trips. The survey also provides actionable data that can be used to establish meaningful commuting goals for your organization.

Customized Employee Commuting Plan
Smart Commute will assist and advise your staff in the development of a customized employee commuting action plan. We will work closely with your staff to translate the data gathered from the commuter survey into meaningful and measurable commuting strategies.

Launch Event
Smart Commute will organize a launch event at your facility to kick off your Smart Commute program. We will be onsite for a full day to educate and enroll employees in the Carpool Zone and to discuss your commuting strategies. Smart Commute will also provide marketing and promotional materials for the event.

Promotional Events
Carpool Week (February) - Carpool week encourages employees to register an account or log into their corporate Carpool Zone for a chance to win great prizes!
Carpool & Win (March) - Carpool in the month of March for a chance to win great prizes. Participants are encouraged to form a carpool on their corporate Carpool Zone.
Bike to Work Day (May) - Bike to Work Day is an annual Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area (GTHA) wide event that kicks off the cycling season and promotes cycling to work as a viable and environmentally-friendly commute option in the month of May. Let us organize a group ride at your workplace and give your employees the chance to win fantastic prizes.
Clean Air Commute (June) - Clean Air Commute is an annual weeklong event coordinated through Pollution Probe that serves as a friendly reminder that we all have a responsibility to reduce pollutants from entering our atmosphere. As a Smart Commute Workplace, registration is free of charge (subject to participation targets) – a potential
value of $2000.00.Great giveaway prizes are included.
ACTIVATE Your Commute Challenge (July) - The ACTIVATE Your Commute Challenge motivates commuters to leave their cars at home, get their daily or weekly dose of physical activity and reduce their carbon footprint by using the ACTIVATE Your Commute, Walking & Cycling online tool. The workplace with the most walking and cycling kilometres travelled during the challenge week is crowned ‘The Most Active Workplace”.
Smart Commute Week (September)- The goal of Smart Commute Week is to increase awareness of sustainable transportation options including walking, cycling, carpooling, and taking public transit to and from work. Commuters that try a sustainable mode of transportation at least once during Smart Commute Week are entered to win great prizes.
Smart Commute Awards (November) - The Smart Commute Awards ceremony honours employers who have shown outstanding leadership and exceptional effort in implementing their Smart Commute Programs.
