The CycleLoan Program

The newest and coolest bike fleet program - CycleLoan! Created specifically for the workplace, the concept behind the CycleLoan Program is simple: provide employees with free access to bicycles during business hours thus promoting active modes of transportation at work. 

The turnkey program is the brainchild of SustainMobility to address the growing demand to create a bicycle friendly culture in the City of Mississauga. The program is sponsored by the Region of Peel and Gallant Bicycles.

Since its launch, the program has been a great success! Employees are using the CycleLoan bicycles for local business meetings, exercise, and recreation. Team up with SustainMobility to implement a low cost, low maintenance, single or multi-site CycleLoan Program for your employees.

Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee

MCACFormed in 1994, the Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee (MCAC) consists of citizen volunteer representatives, Mississauga Ward Councillors and City staff.

MCAC’s responsibility is to increase the safety, quality and quantity of multi-use recreational trails in the City of Mississauga.

CAA Bike Assist
  

Biking has always been a popular recreational activity and has been gaining popularity as a commuting option for individuals traveling to and from work.  To support the growing trend, CAA has introduced its “Bike Assist” roadside assistance service to all CAA members with no additional cost.

If you run into a problem that cannot be fixed on the spot, CAA will transport you and your bicycle to wherever you need to go. It's available to CAA members 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Bike & Ride

Bike racks

Bike racks are available on all Mississauga Transit & Brampton Transit buses. Each rack can hold two conventional bicycles with wheels that are at least 16 inches (41 cm) in diameter. No additional fare is required. Customers are responsible for placing bike on rack.

Bike-Share Programs

BikeShareBike-share programs offer a community of users a pool of bikes to borrow and return on a daily basis. There are at least two bike-share programs currently operating in the City of Mississauga. The University of Toronto at Mississauga has a student bike share program and the City of Mississauga operates a bike share program at the civic centre for city employees.

Students can go online to see the inventory of bikes available through the UTM Bike-Share Program or to sign-out a bike for the day.

City of Mississauga employees can book a free bike from the gym on the fourth floor of the civic centre. For $5 a year, city employees who cycle to work can also use the shower facilities at the Civic Centre gym. 
 



Emergency Ride Home (ERH) Program

Smart Commute is bringing you an easier way to get home in the event of an unplanned emergency!

Emergency Ride Home Program claim forms are now available online at www.emergency.smartcommute.ca. Expenses, once approved by Smart Commute, will be reimbursed up to $75 per trip.
