Smart Commute is an initiative of Metrolinx and the municipalities in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton Area. We are a non-profit Transportation Management Association (TMA) that works to reduce traffic congestion and to take action on climate change by encouraging the use of sustainable modes of transportation in the City of Mississauga and the Pearson Airport Area.
Our mission is to have a positive measurable impact on the environment by reducing vehicle travel, air pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
Our vision is to promote sustainable, active transportation choices to all member businesses and their employees.
Our goal is to make commuting easier, healthier and more enjoyable.
Smart Commute actively works with large employers in the City of Mississauga and the Pearson Airport Area to understand their commuter’s objectives and specific needs. We have strategically fashioned resourceful integrated workplace programs and initiatives that provide businesses and their employees’ with valuable information and internal/external resources to promote and support sustainable transportation choices. It is our goal to reduce traffic congestion and to take action on climate change while significantly reducing a company’s overall carbon footprint.
